March 30, 2023

Meet Katlyn Byrnes! Katlyn will be joining our team in Dallas as an A&D Consultant. She brings 8 years of industry experience to her new role and will be pioneering the market for us in Dallas.

Katlyn has lived in Dallas since she was young. Katlyn is an avid cook and enjoys trying new recipes and cooking in her free time. She also loves spending time outdoors and can be found playing pickleball, water skiing, or exploring various trails on the weekends. Welcome to Studio Other Katlyn!

1. Name, title?

Katlyn Byrnes, A&D Design Consultant - Studio Other

2. Where is your hometown and where do you live now?

I grew up in Allen, Texas, which is a suburb just 30 minutes North of Dallas. I currently live in the Lower Greenville area in Dallas, Texas.

3. What type of company did you work at previously and what was your role there?

I used to work for Teknion, a contract furniture manufacturer, for almost 8 years. At Teknion, I started as a District Manager focusing on architectural products and then transitioned into the A&D Market Manager position for the past 6 years.

4. What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?

During the Texas heat (which is at least 8 months out of the year) - You will always find me near some type of water. Im either out on the lake, water skiing, or hanging by the pool. I also recently have picked up pickle ball (like everyone else in the world haha) and enjoy playing with friends. I am an aunt to a 2 year old boy and a 6-month old baby girl, so I normally am running around with the babies at some point during the weekend. My fiancé and I are really big foodies and are usually trying a new restaurant or cooking a fun dinner at home.

5. When people visit your town, what are the top local spot(s) you recommend to them?

*Katy Trail is a walking trail and has a fun restaurant to watch football and enjoy great quesadillas and a 'summer beer' (blue moon, titos & lemonade) *The Dallas Arboretum - 66 acre botanical gardens in East Dallas. Such a fun place to enjoy the weather and beautiful flowers. They host a ton of events throughout the year as well. *All of the delicious Tex-Mex restaurants, I am a lover of chips and queso and Texas has some of the best! Some of my favorites include: Jose, The Mexican, Odelay, Las Palmas, Joe Leo *Explore Fort Worth, maybe see a country concert at Billy Bobs *There are so many interesting pockets throughout and around Dallas proper, so just exploring each area is a nice treat. Dallas Farmers Market, live music in Bishop Arts, fun restaurants and bars in Lower Greenville

6. What's a topic you wish you knew more about or a skill you want to learn/improve?

I am really into cooking and I am always trying to learn a new technique or recipe to master at home

7. Tell us about the best or most memorable meal you've cooked or eaten! What made it special?

My mom has an amazing homemade popover recipe with strawberry butter that we always make for breakfast when the whole family is together. I have dreams about these, since I am now gluten free and haven't been able to master this recipe with gluten free ingredients yet.

8. What is your favorite memory from the past year?

Getting engaged in December in Savannah, Georgia. I was completely surprised, which is shocking because I always have to know every detail of our plans and therefore a hard person to surprise.

9. Show us your true colors! Which professional and/or college team(s) do you cheer for?

Dallas Stars, Dallas Cowboys, Chicago White Sox & Oklahoma State Cowboys

10. What are you most looking forward to at Studio Other and what do you hope to bring to the team?

I am really excited to sell such a unique and custom approach to office furniture. I have well established A&D relationships here in DFW and hope to stir up our market with this custom creativity! I am also looking forward to joining the culture - I have heard great things.
