Willkie Farr & Gallagher
The Challenge
Studio Other partnered with Gensler to deliver 30 custom workstations for Willkie Farr & Gallagher’s first Los Angeles office, located in a striking triangular building in Century City. The primary challenge was designing furniture that could integrate seamlessly into the building’s unique geometry, as each workstation was positioned at the pointed ends of the floor plan. At the same time, the solution needed to maintain a high-end architectural aesthetic while staying within budget and supporting user functionality.

The Design Approach
The design approach began with the exterior form, ensuring each workstation aligned with the building’s sharp angles and premium look. From there, Studio Other worked inward, developing functional layouts that addressed storage needs, ergonomics, and day-to-day usability within unconventional footprints. A strategic material palette balanced performance and cost, combining wood veneer exteriors for a refined appearance with laminate work surfaces and metal storage to meet budget requirements. Varied storage solutions were also introduced to complement the triangular forms and enhance flexibility.

The Results
Through a collaborative co-design process with Gensler, the team was able to translate complex architectural constraints into purposeful, user-centered solutions. The result is a cohesive set of workstations that not only reinforce the building’s distinctive design but also support a flexible, wellness-driven workplace—helping establish Willkie Farr’s Los Angeles office as a destination for both current employees and new talent.
